The Great India Tiger Safari , which explores three stunning parks in the central highlands – Tadoba, Kanha, and Bandhavgarh – is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts with a focus on Tigers.
Tadoba is known for its Teak and Bamboo forest, a habitat favored by Tigers and Leopards. Kanha features an undulating landscape with dense vegetation, hillocks, and meadows. Bandhavgarh is characterized by Sal forest in the valleys and lower slopes, transitioning to mixed deciduous forest on the hills and in the drier areas of the park. The park has historical significance tied to the mythological heroes Rama and Laxmana, with the name "bandhav-garh" meaning "the brother’s fort," a gift from Rama to his brother Laxmana upon returning from victory over Lanka.
Kanha National Park's landscape includes dense vegetation, hillocks, and open meadows, with the meadows serving as crucial habitats for various wildlife species. Tadoba, a picturesque jungle with hilly terrain, is renowned for its tiger sightings and abundant wildlife. Covering 1727 Sq.km, Tadoba National Park is a dry deciduous forest with teak, bamboo, grasslands, and lakes providing water sources.
This 10-day Great Indian Tiger Safari offers a unique opportunity to experience diverse terrains across these three parks. It allows wildlife enthusiasts to observe big cats, as well as other mammals like Swamp Deer, Indian Gaur, Wild Dogs, Sloth Bear, and a variety of birds.
